Disclosure: This comparison is published by Velvr, so we are not a neutral party. To keep it useful anyway, we follow two rules: every statement about NovaChat is backed by a public source we verified in July 2026 (all URLs are listed at the end of this page), and NovaChat's own marketing numbers are labeled as their claims — not repeated as independent facts. Where NovaChat is the better fit, we say so.

The short version

NovaChat and Velvr are both AI chat and PPV tools built for Fanvue creators, and both run inside the Fanvue ecosystem rather than trying to cover every platform. The real difference is the business model. NovaChat charges a monthly subscription plus a 10% commission on what it calls AI-attributed earnings, and offers unlimited AI chatting. Velvr charges a flat monthly subscription with a defined token allowance and a hard cap — no commission, no overage charges, ever. Which model is better depends on your volume, your revenue, and how predictable you need your costs to be. Beyond pricing, Velvr's distinguishing features are a transparent per-fan sales funnel, a six-layer mechanical validation pipeline (including EU AI Act Article 50 disclosure), and multi-persona support inside one account.

Rows we couldn't verify from public sources on either side — response latency, model quality, conversion performance — are deliberately left out. NovaChat publishes platform totals ("5.9M+ messages sent," "368K+ PPV sends," "92K+ PPV purchases," a "25% top-creator PPV conversion rate," and a "38% revenue increase in the first 30 days" for the average creator). These are NovaChat's own published figures; we have no way to independently verify them, and you should read them as marketing claims from any vendor, ours included.

The pricing deep dive: performance fee vs. flat cap

This is the most interesting difference between the two products, and both models are legitimate. Here is how each works and who each favors.

NovaChat: flat fee + commission

NovaChat's Pilot plan is $97/month plus 10% of AI-attributed earnings, after a 3-day free trial. The performance-fee model has genuine advantages:

  • Aligned incentives. NovaChat earns more only when its AI generates more attributed revenue for you. The vendor is financially motivated to make the AI sell well.
  • Lower risk at low volume. If the AI attributes little revenue in a slow month, your commission cost shrinks with it. You're not paying for capacity you didn't use.
  • No usage ceiling. "Unlimited 24/7 AI chatting" means a viral week never pauses your AI mid-conversation.

The trade-off: your cost scales with your success, indefinitely. The 10% applies to AI-attributed earnings with no published cap, and how "AI-attributed" is calculated is defined by the vendor. As your AI-driven revenue grows, so does the absolute dollar amount you pay each month.

Velvr: flat subscription + token allowance + hard cap

Velvr's tiers are $29 (Starter, 1 persona, 1.5M tokens/month), $79 (Pro, 3 personas, 6M tokens), and $199 (Agency, 10 personas, 20M tokens), billed natively through the Fanvue App Store. There is no commission and no overage billing. When your monthly token pool runs out, the AI pauses — it does not keep running and bill you later. Captions, vision tagging, and the composer's Suggest button get a 24-hour grace window; your inbox, vault, and manual tools keep working regardless. You then upgrade, buy a one-time Token Boost pack, or wait for your cycle reset.

The trade-offs here are the mirror image:

  • Predictable cost. Your monthly maximum is your tier price (plus any Boost packs you explicitly choose to buy). No percentage of your revenue is ever taken.
  • No growth tax. A creator whose AI-attributed revenue doubles pays Velvr the same subscription.
  • But there is a ceiling. A very heavy chat month can hit the cap. Roughly, 1.5M tokens covers about 700 AI replies plus caption and vision work; a typical chat reply consumes about 900 tokens. If you consistently exceed your pool, you need a higher tier — and if you'd rather never think about usage at all, that's a real point for NovaChat's unlimited model.

A neutral cost illustration

The following is a cost calculation only — not a prediction or promise of earnings. Assume three hypothetical creators whose AI-attributed monthly earnings are $500, $1,500, and $4,000, and whose chat volume fits Velvr's Pro tier.

Hypothetical AI-attributed earnings/mo NovaChat cost ($97 + 10%) Velvr Pro cost (flat)
$500 $147 $79
$1,500 $247 $79
$4,000 $497 $79

Assumptions disclosed: NovaChat cost = $97 base + 10% of the stated attributed amount, per its published pricing as of July 2026; Velvr cost = Pro tier at $79 with usage inside the 6M-token allowance and no Boost packs. If your chat volume exceeds your Velvr tier, add an upgrade or Boost packs to the Velvr column; if NovaChat attributes less of your revenue to the AI, its commission shrinks accordingly. The structural point stands either way: NovaChat's cost tracks your revenue, Velvr's tracks your usage — and is capped.

Where NovaChat is strong

An honest comparison names these plainly:

  • Unlimited chatting. No token pool, no cap, no pause. For creators with unpredictable volume spikes, that is genuinely simpler.
  • Low-commitment entry. A 3-day free trial of the full product, with the commission model keeping early costs proportional to early results.
  • Subscriber-level AI toggle. Turning the AI on or off per individual fan is a clean control that NovaChat documents publicly.
  • Script Builder. Creators who want to hand-design conversation flow templates get a dedicated tool for it.
  • Weekly payouts and an official Fanvue partner listing, per NovaChat's own site.

Where Velvr is different

  • Transparent funnel. Velvr's inbox shows you each fan's phase (1–5), reply and purchase milestones, and exactly which PPV stages are currently eligible. The engine pitches deterministically — same situation, same decision — and only when a fan actually asks for content or pricing. You can see what it decided and why, fan by fan.
  • Six-layer mechanical validation. Every outgoing reply passes six independent server-side validators before a fan sees it, and every decision is audit-logged. The sixth layer enforces the EU AI Act Article 50 AI-disclosure marker on the first reply of every new conversation — relevant for EU-facing creators, since Article 50's transparency obligations apply from August 2, 2026.
  • Multi-persona in one account. Up to 10 personas with database-level isolation (persona_id scoping on every content row) — separate vaults, separate fans, one subscription.
  • Hard caps instead of open-ended fees. The cap is a feature: Velvr pauses the AI rather than billing without consent, and the dashboard shows live consumption and a projected cycle-end so the cap doesn't surprise you.
  • No training on your data. Velvr does not train its AI on your customer chats or media. NovaChat's privacy policy (Section 3, as of July 2026) permits exactly that use, including by "authorized partners." Neither position is illegitimate — vendors improve models in different ways — but you should know which agreement you're signing.

Choose NovaChat if…

  • You want unlimited AI chatting with no usage cap to think about.
  • You prefer costs that scale down in slow months and are comfortable with a percentage fee as you grow.
  • Per-subscriber AI toggles and hand-built conversation scripts are central to your workflow.

Choose Velvr if…

  • You want a fixed, predictable monthly cost with no commission on your earnings — ever.
  • You run (or plan to run) multiple personas and want them isolated in one account.
  • You want to see the funnel — every fan's phase and every pitch decision — instead of trusting a black box.
  • EU AI Act disclosure and audit-logged validation matter to your compliance posture.

FAQ

Does Velvr take a percentage of my earnings? No. You pay your tier price ($29/$79/$199), which includes a monthly token pool. When the pool is empty, the AI pauses — Velvr never charges beyond your subscription unless you actively buy a one-time Token Boost pack.

Are NovaChat's performance numbers ("38% revenue increase," "5.9M+ messages") real? They are NovaChat's own published marketing figures as of July 2026. We can't verify or refute them, and this article makes no earnings claims for either product — treat all vendor performance numbers, including any of ours, as claims until you've tested with your own audience.

Can I try both before deciding? Yes. NovaChat offers a 3-day free trial. Velvr's free Discovery tier lets you connect Fanvue, set up a persona, and explore the dashboard read-only before paying anything.
